The European project
SafeCloud received a positive assessment for its first year of activity from the
European Commission, during the evaluation which took place in Brussels in November.
SafeCloud,
Secure and Resilient Cloud Architecture, aims to make data in the cloud
tamper-proof, and current cloud computing infrastructures and services secure. In
addition, SafeCloud also aims to ensure millions of users of cloud storage
services that their data is not being handled by third parties, as well as
secure user information throughout the entire process.
This project is led by INESC TEC, through the activity of the High
Assurance Software Laboratory (HASLab) of the EEUM, one of its thirteen
integrated R&D centres, and counts on the participation of about 30
researchers that constitute a consortium of seven European partners.
With a funding of 3 million euros, the impact this project has on
society and the different communities was also highlighted by the European
Commission as one of the objectives to be maintained for the next two years of
its activity.
In September this year, the new mobile application Safecloud Photos was
launched in the framework of this project.
