Regarding research, the EEUM maintains its focus on domains in which it already presents an international performance level of excellence – biomaterials and tissues engineering, biotechnology and bioengineering, (nano)composite materials and polymer processing, historical constructions, textile materials and fibrous structures and textile bioprocessing – and will also strengthen its intervention in the following currently emergent domains: nanomedicine; biosustainability, materials and nanotechnology; waste valorisation; renewable energies; energy sustainability; urban life quality. The following areas are also considered as priorities and strategic domains in multidisciplinary R&D&I, in accordance with the European vision: Ambient Assisted Living”, “Factories of the Future” and “Future and Emergent Technologies”.
