OLAmobile creates partnership with the EEUM Back

OLAmobile, a multinational global mobile marketing company, started a partnership with the EEUM. PROMOS is a research project related to product advertising market on mobile devices.
The multinational of information technologies, OLAmobile, opened a second office in Guimarães, where its first technical team is installed. With this new branch, the partnership with the ALGORITMI Research Centre (ALGORITMI) of the EEUM arised.

The project aims at developing a new automatic algorithm for the prediction and optimisation of advertising campaigns for mobile devices in subscription model (PROMOS). In addition to the R&D associated to this consortium, the challenge is “to develop a series of algorithms, addressing a set of sophisticated artificial intelligence techniques”, as Paulo Cortez, coordinator of the project, explains.

Paulo Cortez has no doubt that the research team has a strong know-how in the areas of Intelligent Data Analysis and Business Intelligence. These skills allow predicting which is the best mobile product to show to the final user, in order to optimise the interests of the advertisers, webmasters and creators of mobile content. “It would not be possible to carry out this project without a partnership like this. There is a very interesting synergy, in which I believe that the members of the University of Minho’s team will benefit and so will OLAmobile itself”, the ALGORITMI’s researcher highlights.

Until 2019, this project will count on the support of the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), the Portugal 2020 Programme and also the North Portugal Regional Operational Programme (Norte 2020) in a total amount of 564.610,22 thousand euros.
