The cooperation agreement
between the University and the Institute aims at exploiting the capacities of both
institutions in engineering research.
On the 7th February 2018, the University of Minho (UMinho) and the
Institute for Welding and Quality (Instituto de Soldadura e Qualidade - ISQ)
signed a cooperation agreement that aims at exploring the potentialities of
both entities, in order to enhance their action.
The cooperation’s scope is focused on engineering research, through the
development of joint research and development projects, research and service
provision and training initiatives.
“This collaboration and
partnership with the University of Minho is fundamental to the development of
ISQ as a technological infrastructure, as the University provide assistance in
a scientific and R&D component. With this agreement, we believe this
partnership will result in more projects and activities within this
institution”, António Correia da Cruz, one of the Administrators of ISQ
highlighted.
The agreement signature ceremony counted on the presence of the UMinho’s
Rector, Rui Vieira de Castro, and the Administrators of ISQ, António Correia da
