Collaborative Laboratory in Digital Transformation (DTx) - experiencing the future was born in Guimarães Back

On 10 May 2018, in Guimarães, the notarial deed of the creation of the Collaborative Laboratory in Digital Transformation (DTx) was held.
DTx, which has the legal status of a non-profit association, aims at applied research in different areas associated with digital transformation, encouraging cooperation between R & D units, higher education institutions and the productive sector in new collaborative and risk sharing, enhancers of value creation and qualified scientific employment. The following companies are members of DTx: Universities of Minho, Évora and Católica; INL and CEiiA, as well as Accenture, Bosch Car Multimedia, IKEA Industry, Cachapuz-Bilanciai, Celoplás, ebankIT, Neadvance, NOS, Primavera, Simoldes Plasticos, TMG Automotive and WEDO Technologies. The affiliated members are the innovation centres CCG and PIEP. The company Embraer Portugal will also soon integrate this new association. The Colab DTx is based in Guimarães, where it will also have laboratories, such as in Braga, Matosinhos and Évora. In addition to the funding of its members, it has the support of 7.5 million euros, guaranteed by the Foundation for Science and Technology within the scope of the Program of Creation of Collaborative Laboratories. The project and development of cyber-physical system products, as well as evolutionary systems, integrating, for example, intelligent materials, digital manufacturing technologies and solutions based on artificial intelligence, will be the target of this Colab in the framework of a strong collaboration between entities of the scientific system and the economic-productive fabric, with international reference partners, such as MIT.
