Luís Manuel Machado Amorim, researcher at the EEUM's Institute for
Polymers and Composites, was highlighted by the International Scientific
Committee of ECCM18 with the Best Poster Award for the poster "Impact
Damage Mitigation using Bioinspired CFRP Laminate Architectures ". The prize was awarded in Athens at the closing ceremony of the
conference on 28 June 2018.
The poster is associated with the project "IAMAT -
Introduction of Advanced Materials Technologies in New Product Development for
the Mobility Industries", by Luís Manuel Machado Amorim (School of
Engineering of the University of Minho), Ana Raquel Santos(School of
Engineering of the University of Minho), João Pedro Nunes e Júlio Viana Miguel
Branco, and Virginia Infante (Instituto Superior Técnico).
ECCM18 is the most important European conference on
composite materials (Science, Technology and Engineering) held bi-annually
since 1985, addressing multidisciplinary topics such as Applications, Materials
Science, Material and Structural Behavior-Simulation and Testing, Experimental
Methods: New Testing Methods, Processing and Manufacturing Technologies,
Multifunctional and Smart Composites and Recycling and Sustainability.
