The PT-FLAD Chair on Smart
Cities & Smart Governance, created at UMinho in April 2016, had its
inaugural lecture on the 1st February 2017. The event took place at
the Auditorium of the EEUM, at the Campus of Gualtar, in Braga.
The PT-FLAD Chair on Smart Cities & Smart Governance was promoted by
researchers of the EEUM, in cooperation with the Special Project for Electronic
Governance UMinho-EGOV. The chair is generously sponsored by Portugal Telecom
and Luso-American Development Foundation.
The inaugural lecture was presented by Professor Gilles Barthe, Catedra’s
Chair between 2016/2017. The session also counted with a debate with Mário
Moreira, from Altice Labs, José Nuno Oliveira, Director of the High-Assurance
Software Laboratory of the EEUM – HASLab, and Henrique Santos, from the ALGORTIMI
Research Centre. Sara Fernandes, from UNU-EGOV and HASLab, moderated the
session.
The PT-FLAD chair aims at developing research and education projects in
high assurance software to support development of smart cities and electronic
governance infrastructures. The Project for Electronic Governance UMinho-EGOV aims at acting as a catalyst, promoting
scientific consolidation within the university and developing partnerships and
knowledge and innovation projects with the private sector.
