The visits of the Brazilian Army and also of a delegation of representatives from Brazilian universities were carried out within the framework of the reinforcement of internationalisation activities of the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM).
On the 10th October, the EEUM received a visit of a delegation from the Brazilian Army, which counted with the presence of the General Expedito Alves de Lima and Colonel Fernando Muccillo Pires. The delegation traveled to the Campus of Azurém, in Guimarães, with the aim of knowing the EEUM, as well as its fields of activity.

The delegation was received by the Dean of the EEUM, João L. Monteiro and the Vice-Dean, Paulo Sampaio. In the scope of its internationalization activities, the EEUM had previously received visits from the Brazilian Air Force and Navy, having already started some cooperation activities with these entities.

On the 20th October, the EEUM received a delegation of four representatives from Brazilian Universities, namely from the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, the Faculdade de Tecnologia do Estado de São Paulo, the Centro Universitário Teresa D´Ávila and also the Director of the Municipality Services of the Province of Lorena. Following the welcoming session of the delegation by the Presidency of the EEUM, the Vice-Dean delivered a presentation of the EEUM and its activities. In the afternoon, the delegation attended a presentation and visited the Department of Production and Systems, accompanied by Paula Ferreira, Assistant Director of the DPS.

The internationalisation activities of the EEUM have been promoting a network for sharing know-how and competences, granting its students the opportunity to participate in cooperation projects with renowned worldwide institutions. The internationalisation of the School ultimately contributes towards training qualified engineering and preparing its graduates for a globalised labour market.
