The School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM) has already a remarkable reputation as an international institution of higher education in engineering. The projects developed at the EEUM allow the interconnection of the specialised knowledge of the School's researchers to the proposals of innovation and product development and processes of companies of the most diverse sectors, allowing a better interpretation of (and intervention in) the challenges of everyday life.
On the “Engineering for the Future” section, to be inaugurated on the 1st January 2018, EEUM will demonstrate the conversion of scientific research into innovative products and services that improve the daily lives of companies and provide business opportunities. On a monthly basis, researchers from the School will share their insight on issues related to current themes, informally disclosing – to all the readers – the research taking place indoors.
The first opinion article entitled “Times of (in)security” will be written by Alexandre Santos, Associate Professor with Habilitation of the Department of Informatics of the EEUM.
