Rui Vieira de Castro, the new Rector of the
University of Minho (UMinho), and the rectorate team met with the Presidency of
the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM).
The recently appointed
rectorate team, led by the Rector, Professor Rui Vieira de Castro, visited the
School of Engineering in December 2017.
The President
of EEUM, João L. Monteiro, and Vice Deans António Gomes Correia, Rosa M.
Vasconcelos and Paulo Sampaio, accompanied by the Secretary of the School, Ana
Paula Brites Martins, met with UMinho's new Rector, Rui Vieira de Castro,
Vice-Rectors Rui L. Reis (Research and Innovation), Margarida Casal
(Education), Manuela Martins (Culture and Society), and Pro-Rectors Paulo Cruz
(Quality of Life and Infrastructures), Linda Veiga (Student Affairs and Pedagogical
Innovation), Filipe Vaz (Research and Projects), Guilherme Pereira
(Institutional Evaluation and Special Projects) and Carla Martins
(Internationalisation).
The first
visit of the Rector of UMinho to the EEUM, held on the 19th December 2017, aimed
at mutually presenting the rectorate team and the EEUM’s Presidency team, and gather
inputs on the School’s strategic guidelines for the future.
The rectorate
team led by Professor Rui Vieira de Castro includes three professors from the EEUM:
Rui L. Reis (professor from the Department of Polymer Engineering and director
of 3B's Research Group), Ricardo J. Machado (professor from the Department of
Information Systems and researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Centre) and
Guilherme Pereira (professor from the Department of Production and Systems and
researcher at the ALGORITMI Research Centre).
