More than 60 students from
the School of Engineering of the University of Minho (EEUM) were granted an
Excellence Scholarship of the University of Minho (UMinho). The session counted
– among others – with the presence of UMinho’s Rector, António M. Cunha, the
presidents of UMinho’s Schools/Institutes, course directors and principals of
local high schools.
The ceremony of the Excellence Scholarships of the University of Minho
was held on the 31st May 2017, at the Rectorate’s medieval room, at
Largo do Paço, in Braga. The academy awarded a total of 206 students with a
scholarship, which is equivalent to the full annual tuition fee, and a diploma.
63 of these students belong to the EEUM.
The UMinho has been awarding students from all the 1st cycle degrees
and integrated masters programmes with Excellence Scholarships, with a
classification equal to or higher than 16/20. The Excellence Scholarship,
granted annually by the UMinho, aims at awarding:
- students with the highest application classification
for the programme they enrolled in as 1st year students;
-
students with the highest average classification of
the previous academic year in the programme they are enrolled in;
-
students with the highest final classification of the
previous academic year in the programme they completed.
Before the award ceremony, the event “2Share – Talentos Alumni” took
place under the theme “Times change, wills change”. The session counted with
the interventions of UMinho’s Alumni José Teixeira (CEO of DST Group) and Sara
Braga Simões (lyrical song performer), with Daniel Vieira da Silva (from Rádio
Universitária do Minho) being in charge of the moderation.
The list of awardees is available in the attached public notice.
