Pan-European Seal Traineeship Programme (PES Programme)

 

It is a traineeship programme provides young graduates with access to one-year paid traineeships at the European Patent Office (EPO) or at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), two of the largest Industrial Property (IP) organizations worldwide.

The School of Engineering has recently become one of the eighty institutions selected worldwide to integrate the PES Programme, which aims to establish a strong relationship between the academic world, the EPO and the EUIPO, fostering actions aimed at promoting IP, in a close approach between universities and the labour market.

The programme is designed to young graduates with proven academic excellence who wish to have a valuable work experience, which can shape their professional future.

 

Internship locations:

1) EPO: Munich, Germany; The Hague, Vienna, Berlin or Brussels.

2) EUIPO: Alicante, Spain (it can also take place at the Litigation Office, Luxembourg, or at the Liaison Office, Brussels).

 

Study Fields: the available traineeships cover several areas of study, as described in the attached documents and on the webpages of the program.

 

Eligibility criteria - EPO:

  • Nationals of any of the EPO member state or Extension State.
  • Have obtained a full undergraduate/master degree.
  • Have knowledge of one of EPO's three working languages (German, English or French) at a minimum level of B1 following the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.

 

Eligibility criteria - EUIPO:

  • Trainees shall be selected from nationals of the Member States of the European Union. A limited number of nationals of candidate countries to the EU and third countries may be accepted (around 10% of the available positions).
  • Have obtained a full undergraduate/master degree.
  • To complete the EUIPO online courses (additional information will follow only to selected candidates that will integrate the EEUM's shortlist).
