3rd Cycle (PhD)

Notice: The Doctoral Program in Food Science and Technology and Nutrition will run in the academic year 2021/2022. At the moment, the course is not yet available in the educational offer, as it is awaiting the signature of the Joint Order of the institutions involved. However, applications will be open from August 30th to September 3rd 2021.

Notice: In accordance with Decree-Law No. 65/2018, the courses listed below are changing their study plans for a PhD without a course:

  • Doctoral Program in Electronic and Computer Engineering
  • Doctoral Program in Civil Engineering
  • Doctoral Program in Informatics
  • Doctoral Program in Sustainability of the Built Environment

 
 


FCT PhD Programmes​​​​​​​​​​

FCT PhD Programmes are expected to bring together higher education institutions (HEI), research institutions and industry. The call for FCT PhD Programmes (Foundation for Science and Technology / Ministry of Education and Science) assessed and selected the most competitive proposal internationally, recommending these for funding. Funding for FCT PhD Programmes covers the costs of PhD studentships (national or mixed), for three or four years maximum. In each call, a restricted number of PhD Programmes are approved, based on the decision of an international, independent evaluation panel.
